Men’s dashiki dress shirt

So I always get asked if I make any men’s clothes.  I finally decided to try one and it was pattern hacked version of the Mimi G style Simplicity pattern 8427.  I hacked it by elongating the bottom half of the shirt, straightening it and giving it side slits.  It was an ode to the African men’s shirts, so I guess you can say it’s African inspired.  I used Dashiki aka Angelina fabric that I picked up while on a road trip and used a beautiful brown cotton fabric that I picked up from Joann’s for contrast because I did not want an entirely print shirt and in this case I don’t think I would change a thing.

Until next time,
