Sweatpants, the summer edition!

In this season of the Corona virus, many of us have been staying safe at home and looking for ways to make ourselves comfortable. So this particular make is inspired by my love for sweatpants. Believe it or not, I myself love a good pair of men’s sweatpants ( I scan through the men’s section at time for comfort clothes and sweats are my weakness). A fellow sewing friend, sew sister in case @sewstartino on Instagram, mentioned that I should check out the Arden Pant’s by Helen’s Closet Case Patterns. I did and I love them!

Never having used the brand or Indie pattern’s I wasn’t too sure of their sizing. For this pair I stuck to the pattern and I will say for my taste they are a little roomy so I could have gone down a size or two but they still look good. Would I make them again, absolutely because I’m afraid I’ll wear the color off of these.

I of course use African print fabric to make these and I have been so happy with my new pants that I can dress up or down but be super comfortable. Also, they have an elastic waist so listen, those days when I’m bloated or feeling self conscious on that day, I do not have to worry about the waist band feeling a little too snug. I am in love with these pants.

Let me know what you think and I you will make these. Until next time

Love those pants on you! The fit is perfect, in my view. If they were to be worn tight, they would lose that relaxed, elegant ease, what we used to call “throw-away chic.”
